Blog Rules and Restrictions
Etiquette 101
 |
1. This is a moderated forum. By "moderated," we mean that we won't abide comments that are slanderous, scandalous or scurrilous. Likewise, off-topic and/or spam-like comments that interfere with the flow of discussions will be deleted. 2. We encourage the highest level of civil discourse. Constructive criticism is allowed, but creative solutions are even better. In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people." 3. Maintain a consistent and unique identity. You don't need to reveal your real name, but if you're using a nickname, stick with it. Using someone else's nickname (or an obvious derivation) is disrespectful and disingenuous. We reserve the right to ban posters who appear to be doing this. 4. You are solely responsible for the content of your postings and can be held responsible for violations of the law. Do not post content that violates the copyright, trademark, patent or intellectual property rights of others. Do not post threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, profane or indecent information of any kind. 5. We are not responsible for the content of messages. However, we reserve the right to delete, move or edit messages that we deem (in our sole judgment) to be inappropriate or unacceptable for any reason. 6. Remember that your words are "public." We may reprint them in another section of the site. We may use them in an email. Reporters might quote them in article. By posting your message, you expressly grant us an irrevocable license to reprint, sell, or re-use your posting, in any form or format, on a royalty-free irrevocable basis. 7. Don't post comments that are commercial or self-promotional in nature. 8. Don't post telephone numbers, addresses or other personal information about yourself or others. 9. Don't post information from other sources without a full attribution. 10. Try to keep an open mind. Read as much as you write. Don't hog the bullhorn.
