City warns that "My Plumber" letter is a scare tactic
 |
by | Publication Date: December 13, 2007
The City of Solana Beach has learned that the plumbing company, My Plumber, sent a letter to Solana Beach residents regarding sewer lateral cleaning and inspection that is factually incorrect and was not sponsored by the City. While property owners are responsible for cleaning and maintenance of their sewer laterals, the City does not "require" cleaning or inspection as stated in the My Plumber letter. Additionally, the City does not sponsor or recommend use of any private contractors. The City also did not authorize My Plumber to name the City of Solana Beach or the Public Works Department in its letter. This is a scare tactic used to solicit business. The City has contacted My Plumber and requested that they send a retraction letter with an apology to Solana Beach residents. This issue has also been forwarded to the City Attorney. If you have any questions regarding this issue please contact the City of Solana Beach at 858-720-2436.
