Sharing the Best of Solana Beach
The Solana Beach Scuttlebutt was created by two local friends who wanted to create a great website dedicated exclusively to the Solana Beach community.
What’s our motive?
We are not here to promote a political agenda. We may express opinions (in our blog) on certain topics, but in general, we’re independent.
We’re not here to make a profit, either (although it sure would be nice to break even someday).
We simply want to provide a good website with interesting, valuable, timely information about life in Solana Beach. We think there's a need for that.
What’s our mission?
1. To provide current and accurate coverage of Solana Beach, including news alerts, analysis of major issues, public comments & community contributions.
2. To provide a truly useful community resource that's accessible online anytime. The Scuttlebutt is a one-stop ‘dashboard’ for local information.
3. To offer an independent voice for Solana Beach. Going beyond the usual sources, the Scuttlebutt seeks to represent every perspective – including yours.
What’s our model?
The Scuttlebutt didn’t start out as a newspaper that added a website component. It was designed from the ground up as an online resource, and it’s now becoming the best exclusively local website for Solana Beach information. We’ve recently updated the site with a bigger format, easier navigation, video content and other features. And we’ve started serving up local content to Twitter and Facebook fans. (Please connect with us there!)
With your help, we’ll continue to grow and serve this community in many meaningful ways. We welcome your suggestions for making the Solana Beach Scuttlebutt better than ever.
Thanks for reading. |
