It’s the biggest playground in the world: the Pacific Ocean. Whether you’re catching a wave or just catching some rays, the beach is the place to be. On any given day, you’ll see surfers, kayakers, windsurfers and tide-poolers frolicking in the foam.
And you can go from sand castles to sand traps all in one day. We have a couple of great golf courses on the east side of town.
In between the surf and the turf is the San Elijo Lagoon, filled with beautiful walking trails and hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of different bird species.
Speaking of “surf and turf,” we can’t forget about the Del Mar Racetrack. Watch the running of the thoroughbreds from mid-July to late August. And away they go!
